03. SESSION GUIDELINES
A Better Conversation Starts With Clear Boundaries
HEARA is a simple idea:
You talk. We listen.
To keep every session comfortable, respectful, and professional, please follow these guidelines.
1. Come As You Are
You don’t need to prepare a speech.
You don’t need to know exactly what to say.
You can start with whatever is on your mind.
2. Talk About What You Are Comfortable Sharing
You can talk about:
- Everyday frustrations
- Work
- Family
- Relationships
- Personal experiences
- Things you have been thinking about
- Situations that are difficult to explain
- Something you simply want to say out loud
You decide what you want to share.
3. You Don’t Have to Find a Solution
A HEARA session is not a problem-solving meeting.
You are not expected to leave with an answer.
The purpose is to give you space to talk and be heard.
4. Respect Your Listener
Your listener is a real person.
Please communicate respectfully.
Abusive, threatening, sexually inappropriate, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour is not acceptable.
5. Keep It Professional
HEARA is a professional listening service.
Please do not:
- Ask for personal contact information
- Ask to meet outside HEARA
- Ask for social media accounts
- Make romantic proposals
- Make sexual requests
- Attempt to create a personal relationship outside the service
6. Do Not Record the Session
Unless HEARA has specifically introduced an approved recording process with appropriate notice and consent, customers and listeners should not secretly record, photograph, screenshot, or distribute the session.
7. Protect Your Own Privacy
You should avoid sharing information that is unnecessary for the conversation, such as:
- Passwords
- OTPs
- Bank PINs
- Card details
- Login credentials
- Highly sensitive identification information
You are always in control of what you choose to share.
8. Your Listener May Not Have All the Answers
Your listener’s role is to listen.
They are not expected to provide professional medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other specialist advice.
If your situation requires professional help, HEARA may recommend that you seek appropriate professional support.
9. Crisis Situations
HEARA is not designed for emergencies.
If you are facing an immediate safety risk or require urgent professional support, please contact emergency or crisis services instead of relying on a HEARA session.
10. Ending a Session
Your session will end when the booked session time is completed.
If you want to continue talking, you can book another session if availability allows.
11. If You Feel Uncomfortable
If something during a session makes you uncomfortable, you can end the conversation.
